Today you were the teachers helper and during our morning hui/meeting time you decided to count all of the children in Mandarin. You asked Gavin and Michael to help you and then you went around the circle and counted 1:1 all the way up to 26.
Thank you for sharing your home language with us. All of your peers were interested in this experience and when you told us how many children there were they repeated the number name ‘Er Shi Liu’ with you and boy did you look proud.
Maya your confidence to speak aloud and share in front of your peers continues to develop and today we were all the students and you played the role of the teacher (tuakana/teina)
