Maya thoroughly enjoyed our Visual Arts lessons this term.  She has shown passion, enthusiasm and creativity.  During Maya’s eight-week rotation, she has explored a range of different elements and selected principles.  She developed an understanding of the basics of colour and the colour wheel.  Maya learnt all about primary, secondary and tertiary colours. She experimented with primary and secondary colours in a piece of work.  Maya was able to identify warm and cool colours and understands how colours evoke different emotions.  She produced a “Sun and Moon” piece of artwork which included warm and cool colours that she should feel proud of.  Maya was able to draw a realistic-looking Emu using pencil and vivid and select different pastel colours to create an effective art piece.  She could blend and smudge pastels to add depth and texture.  Maya was then able to select dye colours that contrast with her pastel choices.  This helps the image pop.  Well done, I loved your precision, your attention to detail and seeing the end product.
