Maya has continued to be a delight to teach. She approaches all activities happily and is a very cooperative class member. Maya has developed some strong friendships in Term 4 and is learning how to balance social situations with work. We have been focusing on the Key Competency of Self-Identity, specifically responsibility. She readily takes responsibility for her actions and is always prepared for the day. Maya actively participates in discussions and is very supportive of her peers. She loves playing games and demonstrates a great sense of sportsmanship.

In Reading, Maya has worked steadily and has made progress. She listens during teaching sessions and applies what she has learned to her work. In Writing, Maya has shown similar progress. She is using more specific words and is focusing on using paragraphing to structure her work. In Mathematics, we have been covering Number and Algebra. Maya has achieved a solid understanding of the concepts covered. She is a strong mathematician and can often apply her knowledge to other areas of the curriculum like Science and Technology. Maya listens well and is not hesitant to ask for help when she does not understand.

Maya has enjoyed our ‘Caught Being Creative’ unit. The areas included in this unit were drama, ukulele, percussion, and symbolism in Maaori art. She listened to instructions and actively participated in all the activities offered.

Maya, you are a role model for others in Room 4. Your talents stretch across the curriculum and your ability to problem-solve is impressive. You have a great deal to offer in all areas of school life and we look forward to watching you grow and shine as you head off to Middle School. All the best for 2024.
