At 9.15am this morning we participated in New Zealand’s largest ever earthquake drill.
It is important to know how to keep ourselves as safe as possible should an earthquake happen so we practiced the ‘Drop, cover, hold’ technique with all of our tamariki.
We needed to remember to put our hands on the back of our head to protect our necks, and tuck our knees under our tummies. We were pretending to be hiding turtles!
Some tamariki even had a turn at practicing how to be safe by crawling under a table and holding on tight.
