Maya has worked extremely hard in Visual Arts and has shown passion and creativity. She has confidently explored a variety of materials and tools. Maya has discovered a range of different elements and selected principles. She learnt all about the famous French painter Henri Rousseau. Maya created a Henri Rousseau-inspired Toucan in a tropical jungle. She was able to blend and smudge pastels to add depth and texture to her Toucan. Maya experimented with ways that pattern, texture and colour choices could be used in her drawing. She learnt about the fundamental techniques needed for sketching. Maya was able to sketch an apple making sure she incorporated the six techniques (hatching, cross-hatching, contour hatching, random hatching, stippling and ink wash). She produced a very in-proportion and realistic looking apple that she should feel proud of.
